Spiritual Astrology ~ The Rosicrucian Fellowship describe themselves as an international association of Christian mystics. I must stress this is not to recommend their philosophical beliefs, rather the astrological texts they offer freely online. Much of the astrology is solid, though the language reflects a certain vintage and is hardly tolerable on occasions.
Sports Astrologer ~ I’ve heard of astrologers in the UK who make a speciality out of sporting predictions, but as yet we don’t have anybody who comes close to this lady. Andrea Mallis lives in Berkeley, California and has a career making baseball predictions in particular. Come to think of it, we don’t have baseball here either…
Sri Lanka Jyotisha ~ This site focuses particularly on a Sri Lankan cultural perspective. Jyotish is the Vedic system of astrology, originally from the Indian subcontinent. While authoritative in its content and recommendations, this site’s data is also easily accessed by those from different backgrounds. Fascinating and engrossing!
Sussex Zodiac ~ A terrestrial or landscape zodiac is a map of the stars on an enormous scale. It is made up of features on the ground: such as hills, lakes, streams, woodland, roads and field boundaries for instance. Perhaps the best known example converges on Glastonbury, but Sussex has an alternative. With the aid of Google Maps, you can pick out the remnants of it today.
Table of Astrological Aspects ~ In the absence of much of interest elsewhere this week, here’s a PDF listing that I put together of all the astrological aspects I’ve ever heard mentioned and that seem to make some kind of sense. Orbs have been adjusted to prevent overlaps and some symbols suggested where these are not firmly established yet. Enjoy?
Teach Yourself Astrology ~ This is the Astrological Principles section of this website, which if you haven’t seen before or in a while has been vastly expanded. For clarification on some of astrology’s more advanced topics, or concise detail on the essential building blocks, exactly why you’re delaying and not going there yet I honestly don’t know…
Technical Factors in Astrology ~ Here’s a new and growing section of Wikipedia which attempts to address the general dumbing down of astrological technique that’s so shockingly prevalent nowadays. Most of the sections are quite short and not any more accurate than a newspaper would be, but you can always contribute yourself to make them better.
The Astrologer’s Fund Inc. ~ For those intrigued by the growing application of astrology within the twin worlds of finance and big business, then this site is recommended as a starting point for your further investigations. As well as much useful information, there are also links to further resources elsewhere.
The Astrology Dictionary ~ I stumbled on this website and thought what a great idea, an online venture like this would be as a resource for professionals and those studying. Since then matters don’t seem to have moved forward much, most probably because it is the work of one person, rather than a collaborative effort based on peer review, like a specialist astrology wiki or so.
The Fabrication of ‘Celtic’ Astrology ~ Those drawn to esoteric interests are familiar with an established viewpoint telling them, why their beliefs are invalid. However, there is also the danger of allowing just any theory to run your life. Peter Berresford Ellis, according to the Times Higher Education Supplement is “the pre-eminent Celtic scholar now writing”, by the way.
The Lunar Planner ~ Recommended for its extensive review of the theory and practice of sidereal astrology, this site also emphasises the eight lunar phases and encourages attunement to the lunation cycle. You’ll find details of the meanings inherent in each lunar phase and of the latest developments in the lunar calendar…
Top Synergy ~ Some of the most impressive astrological techniques have been developed to help us better understand our interpersonal relationships. This site allows you to experience a part of this for yourself, with a free report based around sound astrological principles, emailed as a link to an address you specify.
Understanding the Blue Moon ~ Blue moons get a mention in different contexts. The Moon appears blue only rarely, so a looser definition is used in astrological circles, when two full moons fall consecutively in the same sign. During the first four decades of the twenty-first century, this happens most frequently in the constellation of Aquarius, according to the research here.
Wikipedia - Zodiac ~ Wikipedia has become such an Internet institution, it is hard to remember a time before it was around. Searching on zodiac this is what they have to offer, with a detailed entertaining feature covering general background, a historical perspective, modern astronomical and astrological points of view, plus plenty more in addition…
Zodiac Signs & Labours of the Months ~ In medieval art, the cycle of the year is represented by the signs of the zodiac, the labours of the months or both together. Instantly recognised by congregations of the day, they are still found featured as carvings on church portals, within stained glass windows and illuminated manuscripts. The rest of this website is excellent too!
Zodiactopia ~ Zodiactopia is a world where cartoon representatives of each zodiac sign all live together and interact in a light-hearted vein, only with a more meaningful and illuminating symbolic undertow. Featured on a popular astrology website that has also had a mention here, this link is to the original source. A fresh cartoon strip, lands for your pleasure every Monday…
